Apartment style intercom system
I live in a 200 unit apartment style condo. The intercom system works through a phone system. There is a panel at the front door that has a 3 digit number that is associated to my unit. You should be able to dial the 3 digit number and it will call the unit. From there you can press 6 on the phone number pad to let the person in the building.
The problem is that my unit does not ring when someone dials my 3 digit number. If I pick up the phone I can talk to the person and sometimes I can buzz them into the building. The property managers say that the system indicates that the intercom system is working.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I can troubleshoot the issue?

Welcome to the forums.
If this is a standard phone, make sure the ringer switch is on. (Sometimes we overlook the obvious.)
Try swapping the phone with a neighbor's phone that works. If yours works in the neighbor's apartment it's your wiring. Call the super to fix the wiring. If the neighbor's works in your apartment it's your phone. Call the super to replace the phone.
