Wireless Intercom System?
Hello,
I currently have intercoms that work with the power line and they are awful. They're unreliable; sometimes they will work and other times they don't. They're very prone to interference.
I've also tried installing (I believe it is called) a phase coupler that plugs into the back of the washing machine (It's supposed to deal with buzzing on intercoms because it combines the voltages that are split when they enter the house.) Well, it didn't fix my problem. It does seem to help some people though.
I'm sure I didn't explain that well, but it doesn't really matter.
The point is that I would like to find a wireless intercom that is reliable. I really do not want to install a wired intercom system.
Based on research, I've read that 900MHz intercoms are the least prone to interference (and there are 900MHz units that incorporate security since by themselves the 900MHz units are not secure).
Anyway, the one complaint I've heard is that voice quality sucks with these intercoms.
Here is a website that really explains the different types of intercom systems.
Choosing A Wireless Intercom System
The website does sell the 900MHz system and mentions it.
I did a search and found it on Amazon.com (Amazon's is branded differently (by Chamberlain) but it is the same system:

I'm surprised that today there doesn't seem to be intercom systems that can connect to a home's wireless network. That would seem to be a clear way to go since so many electronic devices today connect via wifi!
Maybe I've missed the memo and there are wireless network intercoms.
If anyone has any advice, that would be great.
Thank you!

There are apps for smart phones that allow them to be used as intercoms, but I've never seen a dedicated wifi system. Doesn't mean they don't exist, but I couldn't find one. I think you've hit the right page for info and Amazon has a good return policy.

Found One!
I found a possibility that I'm going to try out!
There are MURS intercoms that are supposed to do well in large buildings and long ranges. The voice quality is supposed to be better than the 900MHz intercoms (which I read did work over long ranges, etc. but the quality was bad).
