Question 6 Wire phone cable

Hello,
I bought a phone jack tyo install where an old one had been removed. The wire still in place is 6 wires, 3 white wires, a blue, green, and an orange (red). My jack has four connections: black, green, red, and yellow. On the jack there are four screws with washers on each of the four wires going into a pin system with 6 slots. Can I use this jack with this wire? How do I connect?

Your phone only needs two wires to operate if only one line.

Look closely at the six wires.....it's in three pairs. The pairs you will used are listed below.

Connect the wires as follows:

red - blue/white
green - white/blue
yellow - orange/white
black - white orange
