Cat 6 connectons.
I some how damaged a cat 6 female connector. Would I just be able to use mechanical connector (some thing like they use at telecommunication company). All I am using this for is a 4K security camera.

Are you asking if you can cut it off and replace it with a crimp on RJ-45..... the answer is yes,
Do you have an RJ45 crimping tool ?

Yes I do have a RJ45 crimping tool I was wonder about a scotch lock (you put two wires in and crimp and filled with a gel) or connector like that. I have RJ modular plugs but not what it would go into.

Ok..... you damaged the camera end connector. You have two choices.
1) crimp an RJ45 connector on and use a cable extender or barrel to couple the ends.
cable extender
2) crimp on or use an RJ45 keystone jack.

The scotch lock connector is not ideal, but it is working surprisingly well when you have nothing else. For the data you need only 4. Proffesionals may use: http://hyperelectron.com/image/cache...-1-500x500.jpg
