Internet speed

I suspect that my Spectrum-issued modem may have become outdated. Maybe five years old.

"Standard Internet" is listed on the invoice. 'Sorry, I don't see an Mbps number...

My Download Speed on an ethernet wired computer is 20.3, upload 2.3. Via wi-fi, it's 21.2, and 2.3. Does this give enough information to determine if I should ask for a current modem?

I would just go ahead and ask for a new one. Just tell them it's gotten really, really slow. They don't usually have a problem with this.

I'm assuming the wifi is built into the modem?

I find a lot of modems with built in wifi lack in throughput power (computing/routing horsepower).
It also should be noted how many wifi devices you had connected at the time of testing. MIMO count is a big consideration when testing.

When Comcast sent me a new, updated modem, it was the modem/router combo. Since I already have a router, it wasn't working well together. I was able to turn off the router part thru the app. I'm sure other makes have the same option.
