Disconnecting old Intercom

Hi, I hope this is the right thread; I have an intercom system in my house that does not function. Each room has speaker boxes on the wall which I have just painted over and they are fairly unnoticeable. However the main box in the kitchen is an eyesore and I would like to remove it. I took it off the wall and inside I see a lot of little wires that I can easily detach after turning off the breaker of course. But the power connector (I think) to the right is what my question is about. Is that a plug that I can just pull out? Or do I just need to cut the wire and cap it off?

Yes..... you can just unplug that plug to remove power completely from the intercom system.
