Lost a Gig - NTFS to FAT32 problem

Hey all,

I just put a second hard drive in my spare computer (PII-400 running WinME). The hard drive had two partitions on it, one was running a Win2000 Pro student eval course on it. Since that partition is NTFS, I can't see it in WinME to re-format it. When I go into FDISK in a DOS window, it sees the one gig partition as a EXT Dos partition with logical drives on it, then when I tell it to delete the logical drives, it says there aren't any. Then I tell it to delete the EXT partition, it says it can't until the logical drives are deleted from it. I'm stuck.
Does anyone know how I can wipe the entire disk and reformat it to one partition? I don't currently have any data on the usable partition.

Thanks,

Joe

The easiest way to do this is to boot to a Windows 2000 setup disc and act like you are going to install it. When you get to the point where you select the drive and partition to use for the os, it will allow you to delete and create partitions. Delete all the partitions and then install win98.

I hAVE ALREADY BEEN DOWN THIS SAME ROAD WITH MILLENIUM AND XP PRO.
MUST HAVEV XP PRO disk to edit you HDD partitions.
(NTDS is what causes the problem.)
once you eliminate the NTFS partition, you can do as you please with the drive.

partition magic pro 7.0 was the best investment that i ever made.. click on the partition and delete it, resize it, etc.etc..

check out the program at your local computer/electronics store.

Thanks for all of the advice. I downloaded DELPART and it worked fine. I now have access to the entire drive.
