WNT 4.0 drive partitions

Help! WNT was running slow so I bought more memory (had 64 megs and addes 128 for 192 total).
The machine was still slow so I decided to reinstall WNT.
I lost the partition for Drive D when the computer started up.
I used a W95 boot disk to get to Fdisk, added the partition, and then used format and added system files to the D drive.
Well, D drive shows up in NT4 now, but I cannot use it.
What am I doing wrong?
P.S. I am stuck using a CPR disk from ACER. It is an Acer Power 8000 machine.

Cool NTFS...

Well first off you cannot use 95 for NT. 95 is 16 bit. You need to get into your BIOS and set the drives so the CD ROM is the boot device, pop your NT disk in the drive and boot from there. I am not familiar with NT so I hope the disk is bootable. If itís like 2000, XP etc it will come up and ask you what you want to do. You want to do a clean install and I do believe it will ask you how much of the drive you want to use for the primary etc. If you only have one drive you might consider partitioning but if you have two drives and or a burner then let the NTFS system have both drives/partitions. Any data on those drives will be lost now since I believe you changed from NTFS to FAT16. I also think that NT will ask if you want to go FAT 32 or NTFS, chose NTFS.
