My puter freezes up

Help
I have a Pent3 800 meg puter running Win 98 and my puter freezes up on me and I cant do any thing and I have to reboot it

I would like some help to get me up and stay running Please help

a little more info would help. Is this win 98 or 98se? How much memory and hard drive size. does it do it only when online, or during one specific program or just random? Are your power supply fan and cpu fan working? How soon from bootup does it do this?Have you/can you run scandisk or defragmenter? Did it start after you installed a certain program?

I had the same problem with my Win98 and after trying many things I downloaded SpyBot S&D and AdAware from www.TomCoyote.com and I found alot of spyware which the programs deleted. And now my computer works like a new one again. Give it a try you may be surprised at what you might find.

what would you do

i have several old vehicles for sale on different sites. i recieved an e-mail from two suspects. mike_ *Edited* mike clint and also *Edited* here. both of these PERSONS offered to buy my vehicles without asking any questions about them . it was a scam where they send you a bogus cashiers check for way over the amount you are asking for your vehicle and you keep the check and send them back the difference. your check is good theirs is bad you loose. i didn't buy it,it sounded phonie at the begining. i am p.oed that these suckers are trying to rip us off . now what would you do, how can i stop them from getting to someone else. is there a way to find out who they are and where they are from or something i can send to them to stop them from e-mailing someone else , these are the same people that were discussed on cbs about scams. they say that they are from africa. I have one computer with W-98 and OE-5 on it. Just got married....my wife and I are each users on this puter and have set everything up accordingly. BUT: OE doesnt seem to see two diff users so we each get ALL our own mail and our partner's. She gets hers AND mine. I get hers and mine. How can we config OE to see each person's mail when they sign in as user? Thank you :) ALSO is there some way of bypassing the USER logon - password popup and just making an icon to logon to user part? Thx :)Read More
