Dns Settings

Problem: I changed my DNS settings to my ISP specs but they won't stay. They keep going back to the original settings. After I change them, I ok my way out, then go back to check them, and they have gone back to the original. Whats Wrong!! Thanks

What OS are you using? What kind of hardware do you have? What kind of connection do you have?

You shouldn't have to change your DNS settings on a dial-up, as far as I know. What ISP are you using? A local ISP? Big name ISP? etc. It's been a while since I've been on dial-up, so I don't recall. But usually DNS settings are for DSL and Cable internet users.

Why are you changing the DNS settings? Is the ISP telling you to?

I am using a local ISP. Some time ago, they did a "hardware" change to their server. When we first started using them, there were a different set of settings. I guess up til now, those setting were not an issue. I recieved a message from them yesterday, saying I needed to check and change those settings because on 3/24/03, they would be shut off. Thats when I found the problem. My ISP is <HENDERSON ON LINE>
