Unhappy Disk Clean-Up?

I just recently bought a brand new computer... It has Windows XP (home version) on it... It has an AMD 2.0 GH processor, 512 DDR SDRAM, 80 GB Ultra DMA Harddrive, 64 MB NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX420 graphics with TV out, with CD-RW DVD Rom... Anyway, what has happened is that Disk clean-up starts but stops resonding... I did download Kaaza and that is when it started happening!!! I am ready to get in-touch with the support thing... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Dave

Kazaa and other such file sharing programs have been the culprits in many problems. If it were me, I would uninstall Kazaa and run a registry cleaning program such as Clean Sweep. There are other registry cleaning programs mentioned in other posts. File sharing opens you up to more exposure to viruses and the like.

It sounds as if the disk cleanup cannot continue. There may be some problem with it trying to rewrite while something else is writing to the disk. See if the help menu for the disk cleanup can give you some guidance.

There will likely be others along after while with some specific experience with kazaa.

You did get a good antivirus program, right? Be sure to run a full scan and make sure it is updated, especially if you use peer to peer sharing.

Is kazaa running while you are trying to run the disk cleanup? Look in the task bar lower right by the clock. Is there a small Kazaa symbol? If so, right click and choose close Kazaa. In the kazaa options make sure you uncheck the option to automatically start with windows.

Hope this helps.

If you like Kazaa, but don't want all the extra baggage, spy-ware, and ad-ware. Try Kazaa Lite. Go to the downloads and get verion 1.72, when you start it it will ask if you want to upgrade to 2.0 (or something like that), always check no, otherwise it loads the ad-ware.

Good luck!
