toolbar problem

this is proably very simple to do but i cant figure out how to delete the shortcuts on my toolbar.i have about 10 programs that start when i boot my computer and it takes a long time to do this.i tried strart/internet options/toolbar apperance and themes and then advanced tab and it shows my programs but no delete options.i run windows xp.

Click on start, run. Enter MSCONFIG,press enter, click the last tab and see a list of programs that are started with the computer. Uncheck those you want to stop. You can come back later and select them to start if you change your mind.

You want to leave any anti-virus or firewall programs checked.

This will control programs that will appear in the system tray.

yes that worked. in all 2 years i have had this computer i never saw that" run" option in the menu.
