Anyone know what line to type on dos prompt to start boot
process when re-installing OS win98.
A:\ , I can't remember it's been awile since I did it.
What I am doing is starting from scratch using a floppy boot disk.
At the prompt screen, which is blank, iwant to know what to type to begin the setup sequence before using a cd disk. I did it before, but can't remember what i typed in to start.

I think you may have your terminology confused. The boot process is when you turn on the computer and see the memory test, hard drive detection process, and config.sys and autoexec.bat files are processed - you could include the Windows boot process I guess too.
However, once you see the command prompt, booting is finished.
So, I think mudder is on the right trail to what you are trying to do, run the Windows setup program?
Assuming your CD drive is D: and you are installing from CD, then the "D:\setup" should work. If you're running from a different drive, just substitute the drive letters.
Good luck!
