Question Graphics card compatibility with VCR ?

Is the Gigabyte GV-R92128VH graphics card (with DVI, VIVO and other features) compatible with the video signals(analogue ?) from my VCR? I intend using my PC monitor for watching TV and recorded programs.
(I do not wish to purchase a TV tuner card since my VCR is working well and satisfy my needs.)
I've put the question to Gigabyte and have yet to receive an acknowledgement. Any help would be appreciated before I purchase this graphics card. Thank you.

Yes, it will work - the key is the VIVO (Video In - Video Out.) As long as you get a card with VIVO and not just TV-out, you'll be able to connect your DVD/VCR/TV, whatever.

Note that you will not be able to watch cable TV on a VIVO card - that's what the Tuner cards are for. On a VIVO card, you can only send and receive video signals using an S-video or RCA cable - there's no hardware tuner built into the card.

Good luck!

Why would you want to do this? Even if you could it would not be worth it since you'll still need the VCR, and a monitor is still smaller then a TV. Using a TV tuner will allow you to have much greater flexibility.

Smile Thanks to your response re graphics card

Thanks to SafeWatch & Trinitro for your feedback.
I've purchased the grahics card and spending the weekend
assembling my PC and installing software etc in my tiny room.
With a 21 inch monitor, an Altec Lancing 621 speakers and
without another TV box to clutter my room,
I could almost have a party in my match box.
Once again, thanks so much for your quick response.
Bye from the land from down under - Aus.
