Thats really a question only you can answer. For some people 3 gigs is plenty, for others, like me, it wouldn't even be close. Lets just say that you have "some" room. Not alot, but enough to do something with.

3.22 gigabytes of usable hard drive
3.22 megabytes of hard drive free
Is this a typographical error? Are these values supposed to be the same?

If these values are correct, you need to free some drive space. Having a 100 MB free seems to be a minimum value. If they are both 3.2 GB, then you should be in fine shape.

Hope this helps.

Of course, as Tae mentioned, this really depends on what you want to do with it - myself, I'm running out of space on my 80Gb HD (good thing WD got that other drive out to me )

I remember when a 5 meg hard drive was huge

It was just a few years ago (ok - 20 yrs ago) a 5 meg hard drive was considered huge. Now an 80 gig drive is too small.

Like Safewatch, 900mb is not enough for me. But it depends on what you want to do. If you just do email and some word processing, 900 mb is fine. But look at what is filling up the other 2 gigs. Will you do more of that?

You were asking about pics in another post. If you're going to be scanning a lot of pics, you will need more than 900 meg, even at less than 100k/pic. Likewise for music. Music takes up a lot of space.

Just keep an eye on it for now, but you may want to consider adding a 40 gig drive early 2004. If you can find one, the prices should be pretty cheap ($100 or so installed?).
