cd troubles

I have an older computer...a Dell 200 MHz...32 MBytes Ram...4.3 Gigibyte hard drive...running Windows 98. The problem is that I'm trying to play a "trophy bass 2 " cd. Always before, whenever I would close the cd drawer, the game would start automatically...now nothing happens. The yellow light under the drawer blinks a few seconds and then stays on (if that matters). Aren't you suppose to be able to start it by going to "start" and then "run". Could I get some expert advice.

Trophy Bass may not have an autorun file in it - it is somewhat of an older program. Or, it's possible you disabled Autorun somewhere along the line.

The easiest thing to do is to go into My Computer and then double-click your CD drive - if it runs, then your Autorun function has been disabled (reply back for instructions to re=enable), if it opens the CD folder, then there's no autorun on the disk. You'll have to run Setup or Install or whatever the program name is for the program - you should see something in the list that will work.

Good luck!

You can left click on My Computer, then right click on the CD drive, usually D, and select Run, Open, Autorun, whichever one is offered as an option. This will invoke the autorun program, if one is present.

Have you restarted your computer lately? Any changes made to the computer? New programs? Have you cleaned the CD drive lately? Is the disc clean? Will the drive read other CDs?
