I saw your post. I then clicked on your link you gave us, and I saw what your board could use. It looks like your board could use many different kinds of video cards. If you want my opinion. I would install a ATI Radeon 7000 64MB video card. Or my second choice would be a GeForce3 which is also a 64MB video card.

Here are some hits for just one of the options. it seems that it would take one of many cards.

i am currently using a voodoo 3 agp card and it is not doing a very good job at all. one minute pictures show up, the next time i have to hit refresh to get them to show up. and sometime that don't even work. other cards that i have tried, the monitor won't even come on at all. thanks again DALE

voodoo 3
Do you have the 3d party drivers for this card? As I recall, and best I can tell, this is not supported under XP.

Before you give up go here and see if any of these drivers work.

hey,
thanks for the replies. i am not running xp. i am running win 98 se. yes, i have the third party drivers installed. do you think there could be a conflict with the onboard video? i can not find a jumper on this board, and it does not have the option in my bios either. but it is supposed to have onboard video. [strange] thanks again DALE

If I were you I would read up in your manual for your motherboard really well. Chances are you will find something useful in there. If you don't, then look up your motherboard model number on the internet for information on your board. My guess is that your board has setting somewhere either on the board or in the bios. They could be hiding from you...LOL

Interesting problem with this board is discussed briefly here:

http://archives.mandrakelinux.com/ne...2/msg02540.php

According to the mfg web site of specs on the board, it does not have built in video. So there should be no concern about conflicts.

hello everyone,
i still have not had any luck on getting this problem fixed. i work on computers on the side, and just when you think you have seen it all, something new comes along. lol anyway, there is a gentleman on one of the other forums that is giving me a video card and i just pay the shipping on it. i thought that was really nice of him. so anyway, i want to thank everyone for responding and being helpful to me in this matter. happy holidays and GOD BLESS
