Are you running a firewall of any sort, like zone alarm, or are you running a popup stopper? Also, make sure the time and date on your computer are set correctly.

win 2k shouldn't stop you. Did you check the time and date settings?

The date and time need to be the right date and pretty close time in order to synchronize with some services.

The script picks up a cookie on redirect to the mail url. This cookie retrieves your aol screen name, probably by matching the aol cookie for screen name. Then it redirects again to the login / sign up page.

This is running a java script. Do you have JRE or VM greater version than 1.2 installed? You may get the cookie error when the Java engine is actually the problem. You can get Java from www.sun.com no cost or obligtion.

W2000 may not come with this. I was surprised to find that XP home did not come with it, either.

Hope this helps.

other security settings?

Aren't there other security settings in W2K? Perhaps these are set too high.

Are you still getting the same error message about cookies?
Have you tried the MSN web site using the exact wording?

We can blame it on the upgrade. What we needed was a culprit.

It is hard to beat a clean installation.

Hope this helps.

now that your date is set correctly, you should clean out your old cookies, run ad aware or search and destroy, reboot, and then try it. The cookies should be under c:/Documents and Settings/Administrator.
