IE Address Bar History

In my never ending search to protect my computers from spyware, hackers, etc., I am now ruinning a firewall, anti-virus, ad-aware, and ad-watch. But now I have one small problem that is driving me crazy. My IE address bar no longer deletes its history. I used to just delete history on the tools menue, but that no longer clears the IE addess history. If I type in a Y, yahoo.com pops up. Does anyone know how clear the address bar history? (P.S. I did not make any changes to IE options. This just sotr of started to happen out of the blue.)

One more thing. I downloaded Sypbot onto my daughters computer and it worked like a charm (Windows/NT). But when I dodnloaded if for my computer (Windows/2k) it looks like a totally different program. It doesn't have the same options and seems not to do the same thing. Both times I downloaded it from download.com. Any suggestions?

 

Ignore what I said about Sypbot. It worked fine after I rebooted.
