CD Drive

I am having trouble with my cd drive. I can download music from the internet and then play it on a cd player or dvd player with very good results. However, if I try to play back the music, or pre--recorded music, the results are garbbled sound. I am wondering if the drive might need cleaning or if I should replace it.

Are cleaning devices effective?

Thanks for yoour help.

Please provide more information.

Do you have trouble reading data CDs?

When you play files stored on your hard drive do they sound garbled?

Yeah, I think we need more details - I'm a little confused. You say you can play downloaded music on a CD Player or DVD Player (meaning external I assume?), but then you say you can't play back music or pre-recorded music - on what? The CD-ROM?

I think I know what you're getting at, but see if you can clear it up some for us.
