Macro Infection

I run AVG anti-virus and run an automatic scan every night. Last night is found a virus -- ARRTV~.EXE is all I know about it -- which it removed. Why it didn't block it is a totally different question.

In any event, I now have several dozen files that are infected with macros. They are .doc, .dot, .wiz, .xla, .pwz, .xlt, .xls, .pps. and .ppa files. AVG tells me about these problems, but seems to do nothing.

What do I do now?

i searched the avg site under the known virus's, and nothing showed up beginning with arrtv. perhaps if you gave us some more information, like what operating system, which office product, what type computer, etc. Anything else you can think of.
