Probs

I had lightning run in on mine last year. But, I got off lucky, just a PS and a new modem. As cheap as new pc's are nowadays, I would put down for a new one. The only downside is losing all the data you had. Hope you had a backup disk.

When a computer gets fried, a lot of times it is either the power supply or motherboard. As long as your hard drive hasn't crashed it can be installed in another computer as a slave drive and all the info can be downloaded. Even if the circuit board on a hard drive is fried, the data on the disc may be intack and is recoverable when the drives circuit board is repaired or replaced. If the computer has crashed due to a virus, it isn't advisable to install it's hard drive into another computer unless you are certain that the second computer has adaquate vius protection.
