explorer causing a lot of "Illegal Operation" messages

Hi
My Internet Explorer browser is causing a lot of "Illegal Operation" messages. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks if you can help. P.S., running Win 98.

Try running IE repair (go to Add/Remove Programs and click Remove, then IE will ask if you want to do a Repair.)

Make sure you're up-to-date - what version are you currently running?

If that doesn't help, uninstall IE and reinstall.

Good luck!

Angry Virus

I don’t remember the name of it but about six months ago I got a virus that prompted an illegal operation then shut down. Don’t know if this helps but you might do virus scan? Windows web site has a removal tool for this virus

Also it may not be IE's fault, do a spyware scan and check your installed Browser helper objects as well, either of these could be causing the problem.
