Re installed I.E

I took safewatch advise and re installed the explorer
It seemed to really speed the computer up alright.
I also got another critical update for windows 98/SE
Thats the second one since microsoft reversed there decision
to discontinue support for windows 98/SE.The Idea to re Install
the explorer was to get rid of those Illegal operation pop ups

BTW been up 24/7 for 200 days, no illegal ops or BSOD's so far (bite my tongue)

re-Installing the I.E from time to time has
a regular maintenance plan...would like

I would definitly NOT perform that task as routine maintenance. Though you tried it and it fixed your problem, it is almost as likely to not fix a problem and cause more/different problems, you may mess up a perfectly working system for no reason.

Yeah, I agree - you know what they say, "If it ain't broke - don't break it!!!"

This applies mostly to Microsoft - if it's working, you've hit the sweetspot, no reason to tempt fate.
