Bookmark (Favorites) Managers

Ok, having several computers (ranging from laptops to servers), I tend to jump from one computer to another depending on which is closer and what I need to do. For the most part I use the laptop, but from time to time I'll sit down at the desk and work too.

That being said, I need a good bookmark manager that (preferrably) will automatically update my bookmarks on my webserver - whether it be FTP or whatever, doesn't matter.

I've tried a few in the past, and they tend to mangle all of my bookmarks - supposedly being able to merge them.

I know there are all kinds of programs available out there - but I don't have the time or patience to play with them all just to find the one that works.

Anybody have any suggestions on some to try out?

Thanks.

Brandon,

I don't know anything about "bookmark management" software, and perhaps I am misunderstanding what you're asking, but why don't you run remote profiles, or put all your profiles on the server so you will have everything the same on all machines. Is that what you're talking about?

That works fine locally, on my network - but if I am on another machine and not logged into my intranet, it won't help.

Really what I'm looking for is a program that will automatically upload and update (merge) my bookmarks on a remote server (preferrably my webserver) every day or whenever scheduled. I don't need the entire profile (since I use several different profiles, depending on what I'm doing) just the favorites/bookmarks (are they even referred to as "bookmarks" anymore???)

Hmmmmmm... Ok, I see what you mean. Sorry, man. I have no experience with that stuff at all. I could offer something if I googled for a while, but I'm sure I wouldn't find anything that you don't already know... Good luck, friend!

Yeah, I could Google and Download.com all day long - as a matter of fact, I have (about 6 months ago) and that's when I found that Favorites Mangler mentioned above. Which is why I posted here, hoping someone knows of, or has used, a good program and could make some recommendations.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think I may just do it myself using Web Folders or some setup. I could setup a small script to automatically update an XML file on a Web Folder (my webserver.) The only reason I haven't yet, is because that is somewhat how the Mangler worked. I'll be sure to make a good backup before I try anything else like that

Thanks anyway.
