Hard Drive Changeout - Combine two drives

Anyone have any ideas or utilities that would help in combining two hard drives. I have two drives currently in my machine. The first is partitioned as drive C,D,E and the second drive is F,G. My XP pro is on drive F and I just got through reloading it and as luck would have it the drive bearings have suddenly become very noisy.

I have purchase a large faster drive and want to combine the two drives onto the new one without reloading. I have drive image software such as ghost and powerquest drive image but it will only allow me to copy only one hard drive onto the new drive. Any ideas, I don't want to go through another reload.

Not sure what you mean by combining, if you mean taking the 2 drives and combining there size to make one drive letter equaling their combined size, the only way to do this is to set up a RAID 0 array, and you need a RAID controller and a fresh install.

Partition magic will combine partitions, not drives. But now that I re-read the post that may be what he's looking for.

Partition Commander is also an excellent utility for this.

Use ghost and copy the operating system drive. The other drives are only data drives just "COPY" them. Or partion your new drive and ghost the old drives to the new partitions.

Set up the new drive with the preparation programs that come with it. Make a fresh installation of XP, then just copy all the files from the individual drives to the new one.

Hard Drive Changeout

Thanks for the ideas from everyone. Sorry if I was unclear about what I am doing. I will replace the two drives I have now with one very large fast drive.

Will get into this in a few days so thanks all!
