E-mail problem

My friend has an older (Pentium II) computer running Windows 98 and a 56k dial-up modem. He's uses Juno for email and internet access.

I sent him a jpg file a few days ago which he couldn't open. When I was there yesterday, we tried again and the attachment opened as an Excel file with lines of "gibberish" - but no picture.

Anyone have any ideas about what's going on?

Thanks

How did you try to open the attachment?

Instead of just clicking to open the image, save it to the HDD first. Then right-click on the filename and click "open with". A list of programs will display. Choose a photo program he has installed, or if none exists, just choose IE.

Should work because it just sounds like a file association problem.
