8mm to DVD

Is there a way to transfer my 8mm video to DVD through my computer?

I have a DVD burner in my computer. I have an 8mm camcorder with 2 outputs (video & audio). Is there a device/plugin that I can purchase w/2 inputs (audio & video) for my computer?

Thanks a bunch!

I beliebe any ATI All-In-Wonder video card will do this. However, something along the lines of an old "Buzz Drive" would be more appropriate. I'm not saying to go get a Buzz drive (they haven't even sold them in years because they were cucca), but a company called Hauppage (sp?!) makes good video capture cards.

That's what you need, a video capture card.

Check out a local CompuSA for a decent selection. Once you've captured to PC, burning to DVD is the easy part.

I've been using an ADSTech DVD Xpress capture device. Has rca inputs and outputs to computer via usb. I'm capturing vhs from a spare recorder/player that sits on a stand near the desk; and have been very pleased with the results. Reasonably priced, too.
