Scanning slides

What is the best way to scan old projector slides? I have about 15 reels of slides that I want to scan. Anyone have any experiences with this?

Well, you need a scanner specifically for scanning slides. A regular scanner won't do it. Do you have a scanner? What model? Most new scanners have a transparency adapter to do this, but many older ones don't.

I have a HP ScanJet 3200C. I was thinking that I was going to have to get a new scanner to do this. And after seeing your post and checking out some scanners, they arent as expensive as I thought they would be. And some even have the ability to scan old film too. (Which would be a bonus.) Guess thats what I'm going to be doing then.

Now, which one should I buy? What resolution would I need to be able to make clear pictures when they are normal size (4x6 or 5x7)? And are there any brands that I should look for or stay away from? Thanks.

Well, I had a Microtek 5900 which I liked (it was the first Microtek I ever owned), but I just got an i700. Awesome scanner. I love it.
