browser upgrade
I am upgrading the explorer browser program on a win 2000 comp. to the
IE6. when i launch the setup.exe file the error message;
`A previous installation has pending work requiring a reboot. You need to restart your computer to complete that installation before running Internet Explorer setup. Setup will now close.`
comes up. There is nothing pending I am aware of. Have been using the previous explorer installation fine for 2 years. Rebooting won`t do it.
Does anyone have any good clues on this ? Thanks in Advance

Follow the instcurtions that Chris pointed you to, but do be careful.
Understand that this is not necessarily because of an earlier Internet Explorer install, although it could be. Windows thinks that some install is in process.
Make sure that you have in fact completely rebooted your computer. By that I mean completely turned it off and the started it before editing the registry.
Good luck.
