Text is replaced as I type. Why?!
Sometimes when I'm typing something on my computer and go back and start correcting it, the typing that I've already done backs up and erases itself as I type? (Did that make sense?)
WHAT is with that? It drives me nuts. How can I stop my computer from doing that? LOL

when that starts click...or...i mean push (click...lol )...anyway.....the "insert" key on your keyboard...above the arrows..."home" "end" "delete"...etc....and "insert"....in MS Word you can tell whether its set to overwrite or not by looking at the bottom of the screen....in most other programs u can tell when it does what you described....its a PITA...but it happens.....as soon as you notice, hit the key, retype what you lost in the middle, then go on

Yes, I think you accidentally hit the INSERT key. That will do what you describe. Just press the key again if it starts happening and it should stop.

It does it to me in DIY, Word, email, etc., etc.
Now all that I've got to do is find the "Insert" key....AHA...just above the "Delete" key, and now I'm certain that's exactly what I've been doing all this time.
Thank you. Thank you. That has been driving me nuts for over five years. ROFLMAO!

Noticed that, Chris. Thanks.
I bought all this fancy computer stuff five years ago for my real estate business, and I still don't know how to use 95% of it.
My new CD burner came today, BTW, and it's working great. Now all that I have to do is figure out how to use it other than playing a CD. LOL

Mike,
I know you have 12 gazillion posts and probably access the MLS system on-line everyday, but, somehow I have trouble picturing you in front of a puter
I remember teaching you, several times (years ago), how to imbed an image or link. They've made it easy for you now
LOL, Mike and his puter!

Rick,
O.K., so I guess you're referring to my trying to post a photo (with your guidance) of a compression fitting, and I kept posting a photo of a dielectric union several times. THAT was a long time ago.
Several of you "friends" apparently will never let me forget that. My computer genius self has just not improved in the interim.
However, there ARE ways to exact revenge. A compression fitting or dielectric union can be very painful upon installation, not to mention a computer. LOL
