Network PC to Playstation2

I want to use my PC on the 2nd floor's cable connection for a Sony Playstation2 in the basement with a linksys wrt54gs router. I need a $90 adapter on the Playstation2 to run wireless, so I am considering having an electrician run ethernet cable to the basement. Any idea what an electrician would charge for this? Does it help if my house is wired cat5?

If you intend to hire someone to pull Cat5 cable, be sure he is certified to do so. Pulling Cat5 is not the same as pulling electrical wire. Cat5 is more delicate and must be handled gently with limitations on pulling force and size of bends allowable.

It will likely cost more than $90 to have a run of Cat5 installed.

If your house is wired with Cat5, that is good. Cat5 will afford many options and benefits now and in the future.

Hope this helps.

why not run it yourself? saves you the expence of the labor. you can buy a kit with a crimper and connectors or a cat5 cable any length you want. Is not hard
