Could someone explain (in simple terms please) the difference between 'Freeware and Shareware'?

in general....
freeware is free...no time limits,no program limits, just the whole, fully functioning program free.

shareware, on the other hand, means usually that it is free for a limited time, or the program is partly crippled to some extent, until you send the company/person a fee for using it.

shareware defined:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...fine:shareware

Thanks for the response. What happens if you download some shareware for trial...and can't use it or it isn't what you expected? Dose it just remain on your hard drive or what?

Some shareware and freeware will have uninstall functions provided; if not, you simply go into the control panel and remove them using the Add or Remove Programs function.
