Found My Network Card Problem

I found an LSP (Winsock Layered Service Provider) that was intercepting my network connection and blocking it. It was from NewDotNet, so if you see this name “BEWARE!”

I then did a search for NewDotNet and found the Uninstaller; ran it, rebooted and all is well now! In fact, I'm posting this from the computer that couldn't connect to the network.....

Who knows how NewDotNet got on my PC but I'm sure glad I found the problem. I was only hours away from reformatting.
Thanks to all those who tried to help!
Phil

As I recall, the LSP is part of the package of file sharing or some DVD programs and other downloaded programs. Whenever the LSP in the Windows TCP/IP chain breaks, due to improper installation or improper removal or deletion of accompanying programs, the computer will be unable to connect to the internet.installation

Glad you found the problem and were able to clean up the failure in your chain.
