Saving printing preferences

I have a Canon Pixma Printer (doesn't matter what brand) I've never known how to keep my preferences... say, for always printing in duplex, so that when I go to print I don't have to manually change the default settings. I'm betting this isn't too hard to do, but I've yet to get it.

When one speaks of 'profiles,' I don't get it.

What OS are you running? Tipically there are 3 places to set printing preferences in W2K and XP. One is for current print job, one is for current loggin session and one is for default. Settin the last 2 usually takes care of all 3.

Try this START\PRINTER AND FAXES. Select your printer and right click. Select properties. Set your properties etc and click OK.

It would seem that setting preferences through the control panel has done the trick. The same options window is presented as on a print job and I think I must have done this before... but so far so good.

Thanks!
