Uninstalling a program
Both my sons are active PC gamers and I have built and upgraded both of their pc's many times. This one has me stumped. When installing Tribes 2 on one of these computers, the install froze and the monitor went black. They were doing the install and called me at work to tell me. Got home and found the video card was loose--fixed that and it booted normally. Tried to delete what there was of T2 installed but was unable to uninstall. Okay, I reinstalled T2 again from the beginning. Game would not load. Okay, let's just get it off the HD for now. Problem is, it won't let you uninstall it. Not in add/remove programs, not in Windows Explorer dragging to recycle bin. The only option I have left is to go into regedit and do a search for everything that has the name of the game or the software company's name as part of a key/string and delete it that way. Anybody have any ideas?

are you sure the computer meets the minimum specs?
common problems are video cards not updated, bad ram, and direct x problems.

do a google search for tribes 2 troubleshooting.

i've had some un-install / re-installs fail because the first attemt created a folder on the hard drive. once that was deleted the next install would work. this seems to be true in just a few cases like SETI@HOME and PartSmart. one is a number cruncher and the other uses an image data file. good luck
