tv to computer

I would like to try to record tv on my computer. Something like Tivo does. Any suggestions as to what I would need or a good publication to read to learn more about it.

Thanks,

Harlan

You will need a video capture/tv tuner card and a nice size hard drive. Put the card in your computer and a splitter on you incoming coax cable connection. Run one to the tv and the other to the tuner card in the computer and use the software that comes with the card to record the video. Most card come with relativly easy-to-use software.

Follow this link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...47&Order=price

The very first one is similiar to the one I currently use and it records way better than some of the expensive one I've tried and it comes with a remote. There are others to choose from it just depends on your needs.

Good Luck

At minimum, you need a video capture card and PVR software.
