skipping CDs

skipping CDs

When I put a DVD into my computer, it plays the beginning and the ending fine but always skips in the middle. This never happens to my roommates when they watch the same movies and it's driving me nuts! Any idea what it might be? Thanks.

have you tried cleaning it out? Blowing some compressed air in there? be careful though, you don't want to knock it out of whack.

Using a cleaning CD is a better idea than blowing air. It provides better control of the process, in my experience.

using a cleaning cd is a good idea, but sometimes the track that the laser rides on gets dirty, and blowing it with air would work better. I actually take the drive apart and use cotton swabs.
