MS KB Directories

Under my Windows directory (XP Home SP2) I have, among others, two subdirectory named “$hf_mig$” and “NtUninstallKB904942$”. Under the “$hf_mig$” subdirectory I have 43 subdirectories named KB834707 etc. (the number varies on both depending on the KB article). I know that the subdirectory “NtUninstallKB904942$” can be deleted after the KB Update proves successful and I have done that. However I don’t know if I should keep the entries on the subdirectory “$hf_mig$”. Should I back it up on a CD for future reference and then delete it or XP needs it to run properly? I only want to reduce clutter. Thank you

unless you are starved for hard drive space(and if you are,buy a new one) you should probably just leave it alone.
