Wireless PCI card problems

I tried to put a new Trendnet card in my win98se machine. When its installed the machine will not boot up. I took it out and it booted up as normal. I e-mailed Trendnet and they said it might not be compatible with my motherboard which is a gigabyte brand.
So basically I can't go wireless with this machine??? Is there some tweak out there that may help??
Thanks.

PCI Wireless card

One thing you might try that is not always obvious to new computer hardware people.

Try the card in a different PCI slot. Each PCI slot assigns different IRQ settings for cards. On some motherboards slots are shared and you could be in a slot that shares resources with hard drive controller or video card etc. causing a resource conflict.

If you have several free PCI slots try each one and see what happens before you give up.

I tried the wireless card in all 4 of the PCI slots. Same problem.I was wondering if another brand is easier to deal with? Trednet was all I saw at Tiger direct. Thanks.
