Windows XP service Pack 2 installation issues
I am trying to download service pack 2 on my sisters computer with (Windows version service pack 1) and I get the message the it is unable to install. If someone had tryed to install this before and had not completed the download would that have any effect? Help!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't get it to work by downloading either. I spent $3.25 and had them ship me the cd. Worked fine that way and I did it on three different computers (microsoft encourages this).

IN case anyone else reads this, you can download the entire executable file that contains all the files on the CD from the MS site, instead of using Windows Update (which is often the source of such problems).

Save the $4 postage -- after all you're fixing Microsoft's problem without charging them for your labor, right?

merrym100,
without a complete download you have nothing it cannot run because the sum check of the file will flag it as corrupt. and there you are.
