Monitor locked in Power save mode

Hi:

I have a HP 75 monitor that seems to be locked in some sort of power save mode. The on/off button has a green glow meaning it is powered on. Sometimes it switches to orange meaning power saver mode. The button no longer turns off the monitor.

Now, what used to happen was when the monitor powered down, when the mouse moved, the monitor would CLICK and then the screen would appear.

Not to be funny but when I move the mouse or press a key, no click, nothing happens on the monitor. The PC itself is up and running because I can connect a USB device and it makes the sound.

Is the monitor stuck? Way to unstick? Thank you for your help.

May be the video cable has come loose from the video card.

I opened the box. No loose cables inside or out. I'm going to hook up my monitor onto my neighbors PC and see if it works there. If not, then the monitor is swcrewed. If so, then I need to but a video card because I am using the motherboard video now.

As far as I know the power button should turn the monitor on/off no matter what, so i would say there is at least a problem there.
