Very Slow to open/access Outlook Express

Hi All:
Recently, it's been getting VERY slow to access my e-mails/Outlook Express after opening Home Page. Until 2-3 weeks ago, it took a second to open Outlook Express/e-mail program. Now, I even going to the kitchen to make a coffee until Outlook Express coming to the screen.

Wonder why my Outlook Express getting slower and slower? I didn't alter any programs at all. However, for some reason I lost some of items on Accessories - Programs - Start, such as defrag and Transfer Wizard, although I can get both by typing words 'Help and Support.'

I did defrag twice, but it didn't do any help to this problem.

Any good and useful solution on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks always, everyone, ....

Refrmat your hard drive and start over.

Then do NOT use Outlook Express. It is a worthless program.

I would have to agree Outlook Express is useless, full blown outlook is much better. But why reformat, what operating system are you using? Why not just select Outlook as your default email handler, and be done with Outlook Express, I harldy believe a reformat is necessary.

Hi:
Thanks for the responses.

I've been on Windows XP, Home Edition that came with this machine, HP which I purchased about five years ago from Wal-Mart with a discount price. It's a terrific machine for me and I love it!

Honestly, I still love Outlook Express in oppose to other, techies' advices. Because, partly I got used to it and for me, a change is NOT preferrable unless I know well in regard to computer related issues.

In my guess, ... reformat in the first response, it's because I stated about missing items on Accessories on 'Start.' Then, a whole system is something wrong. But, it seems that is not a case. Because, I am able to access both 'defrag' and 'transfer wizard' from Help and Support. Guessing that those 'two' got lost, on which I have no clue at all.

BTW, I forgot to mention in my previous post, ... Outlook Express opens up in a second once opening up a second and third web-sites. Only problem I have is Home Page - Outlook Express route.

Thanks, ...
