DVD/CD burning software

I was having a difficult time burning discs with Microsofts soft ware on my dell computer. My computer has a trial version of Roxio creator LE and then i tried that. It worked great.
I guess i'm looking for some expert advice on either trying a different approach using Microsoft's program,or just biting the bullet and buying a program.
I need some sound advice on the best burning software out there.
Thanks

I also use Nero, and like it.. One other program I use is Alcohol 52%.. It has the capability of copying protected game CDs for storing the originals.. Alcohol also has a great feature that I use..
It can be used to create Virtual CD/DVD drives that disk images can be mounted to.. That way, when playing a game such as Battlefield 2 you don't have to put the CD in the drive, as the game will find the Image in the Virtual drive.. I have 4 virtual drives that I use and it's a great feature.. Alcohol 52% will not burn a CD, but I use Nero for that.. There is also Alcohol 120% that will burn a CD..
Other programs I use are Sonic from Digital Media and CloneCD.. Both are great programs..
