to bring it up assuming it got lost or deleated from the O.S ?
Need to know !

Yes, XP does have a "Wizard" for these two items. I don't see how it would have been deleted or lost, but, when you plug in either of these products, XP will automatically detect it. If not, then you need to install the hardwares drivers and software manually. What is the problem you are having specifically?

you cant type anything in the "Run" box unless you know the exact program extension name (example: wizard.exe, etc).

This is NOT true. You can type any name without an extension. Windows will assume it is an executable of some sort and "try" various extensions. If it finds a match it will "run" the program.

Click on Start-Programs and find the program you want.. Right click and hold the mouse button to drag a new shortcut icon to the desktop..

If you read the original post, he/she is trying to "find" a install wizard. These are not programs that are in the Start menu.

The camera wizard should be in the Control Panel. Click Control Panel/Cameras and Scanners/Add Device.

Isn't there a differance between scanner and camera wizard
and the camera and scanner Instillation wizard...I did do some editing on last post I agreed with previous poster that under scanners and cammera you could find a icon called add image device but this pulls up camera and scanner instillation wizard
not camera and scanner wizard are you confused yet?
