True or False, If you have Firewall protection...

...such as Norton, windows XP Firewall should be shut off?

Early on, I believe after I installed service pack II, I was told uncheck it for reasons I cannot recall, but by good authority. (could have even been Tae)

Does this still hold true?

Generally speaking, you should only run one software firewall on a PC. The main reason for this is that they MAY interfere with each other. There is no guarantee that they will not play nicely either, so it;s a gamble.

However, two firewalls does increase the work you need to do to in regards to opening ports, defining rules, etc., and of course it increases the use of system resources.
