Open Zip file

What's a zip file?

How do you open, view, print it?

I see the PDF icon but when I click on it...it doesn't open or do anything.

Cool.. thanks! I found winrar but "boss man" won't let me download it.

Oh well...I just forwarded it on for him to open it up. Let's see how difficult it is for him to do it w/out anything to open it with.

Have Boss Man call Tech Support and have them install Winrar..
If you have an antivirus program running, don't worry about getting one..

Yeah...we don't have a tech. We have the anti virus thing but boss man is not very computer literate (neither am I, but I do know "some" stuff). Just hate explaining things to boss man. There are those that just do it and understand...then there's those that don't want to do it and don't understand.

In any case...I had an outside co-worker install the program on co-worker's computer at home and co-worker was able to get it. At least I know how to do it know. (Boss man was still trying to figure it out )

Windows XP does not need external software to unzip a zip file. The technology is built in.

As fopr what a zip file is, it's ah archive file. Zipping a file or multiple files is a way to compress the amount of data so that something can be archived or transmitted electionically. You can also encrypt the file makeing it more difficult (but not impossible) for someone to see the original file(s).

In Windows XP go to Help & Support and type in the Search 'zip file.' Tells you how to do it.
