Free antivirus anyone try bitdefender?

Reading the AVG thread just peaked my curiousity. I am using AVG free at home as well, but BitDefender makes a free version as well. I have used it on linux but not windows.

Curious is anyone has used it or knows how it performs on windows.

From their website:
"
BitDefender 8 Free Edition is an on-demand virus scanner, which is best used in a system recovery or forensics role. If you are on an "always-on" Internet connection, we strongly advise you to consider using a more complex antivirus solution.

I think you'll find anyone who has a free and a pay version will tell you the free one isn't so good so that you'll want to buy their other version. I went with AVG after bit defender because bit defender could often not fix the infected file and would automatically then delete it - regardless of whether it was an essential file.
