CD-R problems

Last week I downloaded 5 large graphic programs. After I installed these programs into my HD, I copied them into a new CD-R for storage. Total size of all 5 programs 400 Mb. Yesterday I wrote another session on the same CD-R with 2 new files. Now I can see and open the last 2 files but the 1st 5 programs are not there. I thought that when you write something on a CD-R is not erasable. Anyway to recover my 5 programs? Thank you

You need to have CD-/+RW disks to rewrite files. You erased and/or corrupted whatever old files were on the CD before.

EDIT:

Did you do a correct multi-session before burning the second programs?
