compressing camcorder video??

I've got a dig camcorder, but the video it puts out is way too large in size for an easy download if I wanted to say upload it to my webhosting so others could see it.

what are you guys using to downsize the video? Free programs would be best if possible.

Check out this site. Take a look at the How To Convert guides. It has a number of free solutions to convert your video to a number of different formats. Right now the most popular format to convert to is XVID or DIVX. These formats offer good quality for their size. These conversions take a lot of computing power so I hope you are patient and have a decent computer.

Good call Ironhead
Dixv is very popular.. You need the Divx video codec to work with it..
Some DVD players are equipped to play Divx files, and they are easy to convert to DVD video..
